(COLORADO SPRINGS) — A man is under arrest after the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) said he engaged surveillance detectives in an “aggressive conversation” while driving a stolen car.

According to CSPD, on Wednesday, Sept. 25, the Motor Vehicle Theft Unit located a white 2023 Nissan Rogue that was reported stolen earlier on Wednesday. The car was found in the 2800 block of Half Turn Road, near the intersection of North Academy Boulevard and Austin Bluffs Parkway.

CSPD said the suspect, identified as 35-year-old Ernesto Aragon Quintana, pulled up to one of the surveillance detectives and engaged the detective in an “aggressive conversation.” As the conversation was happening, CSPD said the Tactical Enforcement Unit arrived and blocked Quintana’s car in.

CSPD said Quintana tried to get out of the block but failed. Quintana then ran from the car but was later caught by tactical officers.
