Bill Bauers Park adds accessible swing for all children

(MANITOU SPRINGS, Colo.) — Bill Bauers Park announced it has added a brand-new swing to its playground on Thursday, Sept. 26, and it is an addition everyone can enjoy.

The park — located at 27 Mountain View Road — said the swing was installed on Wednesday, Sept. 18. The new addition is an “all abilities” swing, designed to ensure children of all abilities can enjoy outdoor play.

“It reflects the City’s dedication to providing ADA-compliant, accessible spaces that make every corner of our parks welcoming to everyone,” the City wrote in a statement. “This swing represents our ongoing efforts to create parks that serve all our residents, no matter their ability.”

The Parks Maintenance division worked together with neighbors and the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board (PARAB) to make the addition possible.
