(GUNNISON COUNTY, Colo.) — During our We Are Gunnison County feature conclusion on Friday, Sept. 27, FOX21 Storm Team Chief Meteorologist Matt Meister joined the Western Colorado University Mountaineers for an early morning football practice.

It was still dark out on Friday morning when the Mountaineers hit their brand new stadium for practice ahead of their trip to New Mexico to take on the New Mexico Highlands University Cowboys on Saturday, Sept. 28. The Mountaineers head into the matchup 3-0 on the season, with a momentum that quarterback Drew Nash said he hopes to keep pushing forward.

“We just try and come out here every day and try to get better, every single practice,” said Nash.

Take a peek at the beautiful new stadium and hear from QB Nash in the video player above.
