(EL PASO COUNTY, Colo.) — Attorney General Phil Weiser will visit Colorado Springs on Wednesday, Oct. 2 to announce grant funding and the formation of El Paso County’s first domestic violence fatality review board.

AG Weiser will be in town on Wednesday to announce a funding grant for TESSA , a leading organization supporting victims of domestic abuse and sexual assault. The grant will fund the management of El Paso County’s newly created domestic violence fatality review board for the next two years.

In 2023, as part of the department’s ongoing effort, the Attorney General’s Office provided $3 million in funding to programs addressing domestic violence across the state. Ten organizations received funding for their work on domestic violence prevention, victim advocacy services, and crisis intervention.

On Wednesday, AG Weiser will be joined by TESSA Chief Executive Officer Anne Markley, 4th Judicial District Attorney Michael Allen, El Paso County Sheriff Joseph Roybal, and Colorado Springs Police Chief Adrian Vasquez to discuss the review board.

FOX21 News will be in attendance at the announcement and will provide updated coverage of the event.
