    CSFD responds to car accident with trapped person

    (COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Fire Department (CSFD) responded to a traffic accident at Pikes Peak Avenue west of South Hancock Avenue where a person was trapped in a vehicle on the evening of Saturday, Oct. 12.

    According to CSFD, Engine 1, Truck 1, Truck 8, and HR17 responded to the accident around 10 p.m. on Saturday. Eastbound Pikes Peak was closed while crews worked the scene. Colorado Springs Police Department posted an update that the road was reopened around 11 p.m.

    Around 10:20 p.m., CSFD reported that the person had been freed from the car and was transported to the hospital for evaluation.
