(NORTHERN EL PASO COUNTY, Colo.) — As a cold front arrives late Friday afternoon or early evening, scattered showers and even the potential for a couple of thunderstorms will quickly develop over the Palmer Divide and Rampart Range.

Early Saturday morning the accumulating snow level will drop to around, or even perhaps a little below 8,500′. In fact, under the heavier showers, it is possible that we briefly get a change over to snow down to about 7,000′ – or at least some big snowflakes trying to mix in with the rain.

We’ll probably keep accumulation up over the Ramparts and the slopes of Pikes Peak, but if you’re in Palmer Lake, Monument, Woodmoor, or Black Forest, don’t be surprised if you see some snowflakes if you’re up early enough!
