(COLORADO SPRINGS) — Project Healing Waters (PHW), a nonprofit that helps active military service personnel and veterans in need through its dedicated and developed fly fishing program, is hosting its fall fundraiser this weekend and tickets are still available.

The PHW Colorado Springs Fall Fundraiser is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 19 beginning at 5 p.m. and will take place at the Norris Penrose Event Center, located at 1045 Lower Gold Camp Road. FOX21 News Evening Anchor Scott Kilbury will emcee the event, which will feature a silent auction and a barbecue buffet.

“Bid on high-end fly-fishing gear, artwork, and adventures in the silent and live auction,” according to the event page. “Mingle with some of the participants whose lives have been changed by Healing Waters and hear their stories. Prepare to be moved!”

According to PHW, the Colorado Springs/Pueblo program is the largest in the nation. “It started in 2007 and now serves over 580 Disabled Veterans supported by 221 volunteers.”

This weekend’s event is the biggest fundraiser of the year for PHW, and to register for the event, click the link above.
