Unique Bars You Must Visit In St. Louis

    2021-11-08

What are the three best bars in St. Louis? Which three can you absolutely not miss? Here are the best of the best. If you visit any of these bars, you're going to have a great time.

    Up-Down Bar

Just picture the most awesome video game arcade and bar. That's the kind of experience you'll have at Up-Down Bar. Best of all, the video games are really cheap, so you'll have more money to spend on drinks and food. The Up-Down Bar features craft microbrews from the state and even has daily specials such as .10 arcade games on Thursdays and a dollar off beers on Monday. For more info go here.

It's near impossible not to have a blast at Up-Down. Countless nostalgic arcade games, an incredible beer selection, and pizza for those late night munchies - they have it all. A few of the skee ball allies were out of order, but on a Wednesday night we had no issue with waiting. Pac-man and Ice Cold Beer were other favorites. The on-tap beer menu really is top notch. A great place to hang any night of the week. Aaron B.

    Lazy Tiger

Lazy Tiger is new American Cocktail Bar by the team behind the restaurants Retreat Gastropub and Yellowbelly. The bar showcases a curated, thoughtful collection of about 50 sustainable, small batch spirit brands. Here are a few highlights from their drink menu. The spiral light martini features j. rieger gin, tabernas raicilla, gooseberries, fino & amontillado sherry, and palm sugar. If you like watermelon, you've got to try the Moon Scoop which includes london dry gin, pink peppercorn, orange bitters, mexican rum, salted watermelon, egg white, lemon, and sparkling water. Happy hour is Wednesday through Friday 5-6 and all cocktails are $10.

This place is just cool. It's dark, cozy, and the drinks are So. Darn. Good. Their cocktail menu is huge, and I seriously want to try every single one! Our favorites of the night were the Lazy Tiger and the Mezcal Mule. I am still thinking about the amount of flavor that they packed into the mule! It was honestly amazing; if you're a mezcal fan, definitely give this one a try! The Lazy Tiger is also a great mezcal option. We also tried the Paloma Roja (YUM) and the Velvet Lotus. The Velvet Lotus was really interesting and a perfect creamy consistency with the egg yolk. Brianna M.

    Game 6 Honky Tonk Joint

Game 6 Honky Tonk Joint is an authentic Nashville-style honky tonk located in the heart of downtown St. Louis. You'll find this bar just down the street from the Gateway Arch and just 2 blocks south of Busch Stadium, on historic 4th Street. Over the years it has become a destination of sorts for many country music fans. The prices are great--especially for the location--with burgers being only five dollars and only six bucks for a cheeseburger. If you want a great place to pick up a burger and a brew before or after the game, this is it!

Stopped in to this place to have a drink before dinner. The bartenders are all nice and friendly and engage in conversation easily. The music was good. Everyone seemed to be having a really good time.
Their drinks are good. The bartenders mixed mine perfectly. Fun spot to check out! Lori P.
