There are times when you're just a little light on cash, right? Well, that's no reason not to have a great meal! I'm going to share with you two places that you can eat like royalty for low prices.

    The Shaved Duck

The Shaved Duck was founded over ten years ago and is known for award-winning barbecue & Southern specialties served alongside American craft beers. One of the first things that will jump at you from the menu is the smothered fries which includes pulled pork & rib meat over crispy fries smothered in our famous homemade cheese sauce. Yes, it's amazing. And it will fill you up for sure. A word of warning, you'll probably want to take a nap after eating it. The pulled pork sandwich is smoked with cherry and touch of hickory, pulled & chopped to order. It also comes with a side such as baked beans, green beans, okra, mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese or french fries. And the sandwich is also garnished with slaw and pickles too. Not bad for under 12 bucks!

Great sit down barbecue place! I got the pulled chicken sandwich with sides of street corn and spaghetti squash. I liked the peppers in the corn but the tomato-y full flavor of the spaghetti squash put it over the top. My husband got the gumbo Mac (which is gumbo over Mac n cheese) that is only offered for a limited time and it was creamy and delicious. They also are offering two types of chili Mac for a limited time. The food and service made the wait worth it. Alison P.

    Kounter Kulture

Kounter Kulture offers locally sourced Asian carry out for great prices. The restaurant was established in 2012 and was started by two restaurant friends who enjoyed working together and had a passion for great food. When you go to Kounter Kulture, you'll find large portions of food for unbelievable prices. For example, the summer salad is only 7 dollars and features spicy local field greens, cucumber, tomato, radish, carrot ginger dressing, and sunflower furikake bread crumb. If you'd like something bigger, go for the pepper seared beef spring roll bowl which includes Missouri dry aged sirloin, rice noodles, cucumber, tomatoes, sprouts, herb salad, peanuts, and sweet chili fish sauce. If you like a lot of food for a low price, you can't go wrong with Kounter Kulture!

I love this place so much. Full disclosure- I have never actually seen this place , but have eaten the food many many times. My husband is in charge of bringing Take-out from Kounter Kulture.
The menu is small and ever changing and the food is fresh and delicious. The pick up is always quick after order placement. The food options are generally pan Asian. They are very environmentally friendly and get produce from local farms. Madhura J.

Have you ever eaten at Kounter Kulture or The Shaved Duck before?
