Reading Public Library awarded Professional Development Mini-Grant
The Pennsylvania Department of Education Office of Commonwealth Libraries has announced that 14 libraries across Pennsylvania have been awarded Professional Development Mini-Grants to enable librarians and staff to develop new skills and stay up to date on current trends. In Berks County, the Reading Public Library received a $5,000 mini-grant.
1 killed in Dauphin County crash, fire department says
Fire crews in Londonderry Township responded to a fatal crash on Friday night, according to the fire department’s Facebook post. First responders with the Londonderry Fire Company were sent to the area of state Route 441 and Red Hill Plaza Road around 11:30 p.m. for a crash with entrapment, the post said.

Philadelphia, PA – According to the court documents, the 38-year-old mom, later identified as CrystaI, and the 48-year-old dad, later identified as Shanne, were sentenced to 8 to 16 years in prison after pleading guilty to multiple counts of child endangerment. Both parents were also ordered not to contact their kids until they turn 18 and only with approval of a court-appointed therapist.
