PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Police are investigating a quadruple shooting that happened outside a West Philadelphia convenience store Wednesday night.

It was close to 11 p.m. on Lancaster Avenue, near Fairmount Avenue, when police said two gunmen ran down the block and fired dozens of shots at a group standing by the store entrance.

The unidentified shooters got away. A motive was not immediately clear, police said.

Responding officers and medics initially found three wounded men at the scene and took them to the hospital. A 26-year-old man was hit in the leg, a 23-year-old man was shot in the leg and grazed in the head, and a 33-year-old man was struck in the lower back.

Later, a fourth victim — another 23-year-old man — showed up at the hospital. He was shot in the back. All four were in critical condition but were expected to survive.

Police plan to canvass the neighborhood for surveillance footage. No one has been arrested.
