PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A Philadelphia man has pleaded guilty to several charges connected with a vehicular homicide that killed a 3-year-old in the city’s Brewerytown neighborhood 2 ½ years ago.

Timothy Robinson, 64, admitted to police he struggled with addiction and went to get drugs in Kensington one night in March 2022. When he was driving back, his car flipped onto a 3-year-old.

Authorities say Robinson kept hitting a car in front of him near 30th Street and Girard Avenue. When he swerved around that car, speeding, he crashed, and his car landed on the child, who had been walking with his mother right at that corner.

The mother, child and Robinson were all taken to the hospital; the child died.

Investigators say Robinson had tested positive for fentanyl and meth while at the hospital, and had given a statement.

Robinson pleaded guilty to homicide by vehicle while driving under the influence, involuntary manslaughter and reckless endangerment — the other charges were dropped.

He will be sentenced in November.
