PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — City officials have announced details for the funeral of Philadelphia police officer Jaime Roman .

A public viewing will be held Wednesday, Sept. 18, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Givnish Funeral Home in the Northeast. On Thursday, a viewing will be held from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, with the funeral to follow at noon — seating is reserved for family, friends, law enforcement personnel, and dignitaries.

A procession is scheduled for earlier that day around 6 a.m., from the Northeast to Logan Circle.

The internment will be private. A small motorcade will leave from the Cathedral but there will not be a procession.

City council canceled sessions on Thursday.

Roman, 31, was shot in the neck during a traffic stop in Kensington on June 22.

He was rushed to the hospital and put on life support, where he remained until he succumbed to his injuries on Sept. 10.

Roman was two weeks shy of his seventh anniversary with the police force. He leaves behind a wife and two children, ages 4 and 7.

Ramon Rodriguez-Vasquez, 36, has been charged with murder.
