PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — The New Jersey man who Philly authorities say was drunk when he crashed a boat carrying nine people while on the Schuylkill has pleaded guilty to two of the 20 charges he faced.

Parminder Singh pleaded guilty to charges of reckless endangerment and endangering the welfare of the children. The Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office withdrew all of the other charges that included several aggravated and simple assault and other reckless endangerment offenses.

The crash happened shortly after 7 p.m. on Saturday, July 13, as Singh drove the boat into an area under the 34th Street Bridge.

Three women and one man, ranging from 23 to 31 years old, were taken to area hospitals with varying injuries to their head, ankle or back. Two one-year-olds were also taken to the hospital — one for evaluation and the other for a nosebleed.

Singh was sentenced to three months of probation.
