PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Two people are in custody and police are looking for another individual after a shooting inside the Olney Transportation Center Friday morning left a man critically injured.

It happened in a stairwell at the Olney Transportation Center just after 10:45 a.m. Four people got into a fight, then gunfire broke out.

“It was four individuals involved in what started as a physical fight,” said SEPTA spokesperson Andrew Busch. “Shortly thereafter, two individuals who had guns took them out, so it escalated very quickly.”

SEPTA Transit Police said those two individuals fired at each other and one of them — a 44-year-old man — was shot three times in the back. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Two people were taken into custody and investigators are still trying to find the fourth. No other injuries were reported.

Because Friday was a half-day for Philadelphia schools, Busch said police officers were on hand and able to respond quickly.
