PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A customer at a ShopRite in Olney shot an employee in the parking lot Tuesday night, police said.

It happened around 11 p.m. right outside the grocery store on Olney Avenue, near Front Street. The customer pulled out a gun and shot the worker twice in the abdomen.

“This 30-year-old shooter was a customer inside the ShopRite. When he exited and was in the parking lot, he was involved in some sort of confrontation with the 23-year-old employee,” said Chief Inspector Scott Small.

The employee is in critical condition.

The shooter stayed on the scene and is cooperating with police. Officials said he has a permit to carry.

A permit to carry doesn't mean permit to kill, idiots...get real. Hope he's prosecuted. Health and recovery to the victim 🙏

Oh, so he's got a permit to carry a weapon! The shooter engages in a confrontation with an employee, and instead of reporting the matter to the police or the employee's boss, he steps outside and attempts to execute him. This is a clear-cut case of premeditation.
