PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — The Philadelphia School District says chicken served to children in 200 schools and pre-K centers may have been contaminated with listeria .

Whitsons Culinary Group, a food supplier, notified the district Friday that chicken products served between Sept. 23 and Oct. 10 are part of a nationwide recall.

The district says the chicken subject to the recall has been removed from school meals and there have been no confirmed reports of any students being sickened after eating the affected meals.

A list of impacted schools can be found here .

According to the CDC , listeria infection is the third leading cause of death from foodborne illness in the United States. It can be especially harmful for pregnant people, newborns, those with weakened immune systems, and people 65 and older.
