NEW CASTLE, Del. (KYW Newsradio) — One person was killed and another was injured in a three-vehicle crash on I-95 on Saturday morning. Delaware State Police are investigating.

Around 4:15 a.m., officials say, a man driving a KIA Forte southbound on I-95 entered the right shoulder and hit a parked bucket truck.

Authorities say the impact of the crash was so severe that the KIA was bounced back onto the expressway, where it hit a Hyundai Tucson.

Police say the KIA driver, a 29-year-old man from New Castle, was not wearing a seatbelt. He was ejected from his vehicle and died at the scene.

The 61-year-old man in the bucket truck was taken to the hospital for minor injuries, and the driver of the Hyundai was uninjured.

State police are investigating why the KIA moved to the shoulder in the first place.
