This Florida Seafood Restaurant Owned by a Celebrity Chef May Make You Think You're in London

Some areas of Florida are known for seafood. Examples are Apalachicola, Key West, and Miami.

However, one could argue that if one wants some seafood staples such as fish and chips, then England is the best place to get them.

Florida is over 4,300 miles away from England, but there's a way Floridians can have authentic British-inspired seafood in a British-themed restaurant by a famous British chef.

What's So Special About Gordon Ramsay Fish and Chips?: Famous "Kitchen Nightmares" Chef Gordon Ramsay opened up this seafood restaurant in Orlando's Icon Park in 2021.

The entrance of the restaurant has doors that look like London's red phone booths, and there are Union Jacks painted throughout the restaurant.

Ramsay reportedly took great care when developing the food for this restaurant, telling the Los Angeles Times that a method he developed of using lemon salt in the batter meant that it stayed crisp for over half an hour.

This is a fast-food style restaurant. You order at the counter and then wait for staff to call your number.

What Should You Order?: The fish and chips are obviously the major draw, and fish here is cod fried in oil that is frequently changed. Beyond this, the menu is quite simple, but there are some options besides the fish and chips that are definitely worth a look.

A couple of different publications - including Chip and Company reporting in 2021 and Business Insider reporting in September of 2023 - raved about the lobster, indicating that it is sweet and buttery.

Also offered are chicken, shrimp, sandwiches, and various combos of all the foods. There are also milkshakes of various flavors, and free samples are often offered.

Is Gordon Ramsey Fish and Chips Reasonably Priced?: If you've been to restaurants on Orlando's International Drive, you know that prices can be a bit inflated.

So I would call this restaurant's prices to be in line with expectations considering the quality and quantity. For example, three pieces of fish with "chips" / fries and two different sauces of your choice is $14.99. The lobster and shrimp combo is $19.99. The chicken combo is $13.99. And fish and shrimp is $17.99.

What Do Reviewers Say?: Google reviewers give this restaurant 4.2 out of 5 stars. Most are complimentary of the quality and taste of the food. Some appreciated the free samples of milkshakes. The staff was said to be quite friendly, and the cleanliness of the restaurant was mentioned a couple of times. The sauces appear to be a big hit.

A few people took off stars because they felt that the batter was too thick.
