Florida Is Reportedly Going To Get Many More Locations Of The “Best Fast Food Taco in America”

If I were to ask Floridians to name a taco chain, I'd suspect most people would say Taco Bell. That's because according to Vine Pair, Florida has around 470 Tacos Bells throughout the state.

There is another taco chain in the state - but it only has five stores, although it has been praised for its food. And it is being reported that Florida is about to get many new stores.

What's So Special About Del Taco?: The chain is known as a fast food joint that has some reasonably priced options. Plus the company often offers specials such as Taco Tuesdays. Additionally, many consider the Tex-Mex-style food to be tasty.

In the summer of 2022, Del Taco was named “The Best Fast Food Taco in America” in Thrillist’s article ranking the best fast food tacos.

What Florida Cities Currently Have Del Taco Stores?: According to Del Taco's website, it currently has stores in Bradenton, Kissimmee, Orlando, Melbourne, and Santa Rosa Beach.

According to its parent company Jack in the Box during a November 2023 earnings call, there is a commitment for 52 stores in Florida.

Where Might There Be New Stores?: According to NBC Miami, five locations were expected in Palm Beach and Broward counties, as well as five in the northern Tampa Bay area in Pasco County. as of February of 2023.

I could not find any additional information about specific locations or timing of new stores.

Is Del Taco Reasonably Priced?: Like with Taco Bell, there are some reasonably priced items at Del Taco if you order value items. For example, according to the company's website, they have 20 items under $2, including chicken tacos, chicken cheddar rollers, milkshakes, tostadas, and bean burritos.

What Do Floridians Think About Del Taco?: The Bradenton Del Taco receives 3.2 out of 5 stars on Yelp. Some took off stars because the restaurant was crowded, but many people complimented the tacos. As you might imagine, there were inevitable comparisons to Taco Bell.
