FL Is Losing Another Location Of A Discount Retailer & Is Liquidating - 50% Off - Everything Must Go

    2024-04-04

It's arguably easy to assume that discount retailers are all thriving in today's economy. After all, as prices rise and consumers get less for their money, wouldn't they turn to discount retailers to save money?

While some data indicates that this is true, it doesn't mean that some discount retailers aren't struggling to keep costs down as prices rise across the board.

Family Dollar And Parent Company Dollar Store's Struggles: Although The Dollar Tree indicated that it had recently attracted more affluent customers, it also recently announced that it would be raising prices for some items to as high as $7. Additionally, it will be closing 600 Family Dollar stores.

Florida Has Lost One Family Dollar Store As Some Have Lamented A "Food Desert": In late March of 2024, I wrote about a Family Dollar in Tallahassee's "Frenchtown" that was closing, and some worried about a "food desert" as a result."

That location was also liquidating. Now, there is another Florida location that is doing the same.

The New Florida Closure: According to the Jax Daily Record, a Jacksonville Family Dollar is also closing - the location on Merill Road (Dames Point Plaza.)

It is advertising that "everything must be sold," and is liquidating. According to News 4 Jax, the store has been offering 50% off.

Florida Feedback: Reviewers give this location 3.9 out of 5 stars. While some say that the store is clean, one reviewer noted that the store is sometimes closed in the middle of the day.
