Fast Food Restaurants Are Lowering Prices. Floridians Now Have Several Options For $5 And Under

If you're a Floridian of a certain age, you might remember when you could go to a fast food restaurant like Burger King, McDonald's, or Wendy's and get a large burger, fries, and coke for under $5. Those days seem long gone.

In fact, I've written about mom-and-pop restaurants in Florida like Georgia Pig where you can get a sandwich for cheaper than fast food. However, recently, fast food chains have lowered their prices in response to customers not eating out as much. This article will look at some cheap options for Floridians. I've tried to keep everything under $5. And while there are deals nationwide, I've only included restaurants applicable to Floridians.

KFC's $4.99 Meal For One: Those who love fried chicken may be interested in Kentucky Fried Chicken's offering of two pieces of chicken (a drum and thigh) plus mashed potatoes with gravy and biscuit.

Burger King's $5 Your Way Meal: For now, this is a summer promotion, but for five bucks, customers have their choice of Whopper Junior, Chicken Junior, bacon cheeseburger, or 4-piece chicken nuggets plus fries and a soft drink.

Wendy's $5 Biggie Meals: For five bucks you have a couple of choices at Wendy's. You can get a chicken biggie which is a four-piece chicken nugget, a chicken sandwich, fries, and a drink.

You can also opt for a Double Stack biggie or a Jr. Bacon Cheeseburger instead of the chicken sandwich (but you'll still get the nuggets, fries, and drinks.)

The Upcoming McDonald's $5 Meal: According to McDonald's, beginning on June 25, 2024, the fast food eatery will start a limited-time $5 promotion. Customers can get a McChicken or a McDouble, a four-piece chicken nuggets, fries, and a drink.

Numerous Items At Taco Bell: If you like tacos, Taco Bell has plenty of choices under $5, such as a double beef burrito for $2.79, a chicken enchilada burrito for $2.49, and a bean and rice burrito for $1.19.

Dairy Queen: This restaurant offers a 2-for $5 promotion that lets you choose multiple items like a cheeseburger, fries, chicken strips, sundae, or soda so that you can eat for under $5.

Starbucks: If you enjoy having Starbucks for breakfast, take advantage of their pairings deal where you can get a tall coffee and croissant for $5.

Steak and Shake: Admittedly, I'm a bit over $5, but not by much. Steak and Shake offers four meals that are 5.49 - which are all different varieties of steakburgers and fries.
