McDonald's Is Pricier In FL Than 19 Other States. Floridians Can Get It On The Cheap A Bit Longer

If you were a kid in Florida decades ago, you may remember when you could get a small meal at a fast food joint for $3.99. That was another time because according to The Street, fast food prices have gone up over 21% since 2020. However, customers have also recently seen a reprieve. I recently wrote about $5 fast food meal options in the Sunshine State and now, it appears that Florida McDonald's fans may enjoy that discount just a little longer.

How Much Florida Pays For McDonald's Compared To The Rest Of The Nation: According to a February 2024 survey published on the website Delish, Florida ranked 31st in the nation for McDonald's pricing, meaning it is more expensive than 19 other states.

Floridians Can Take Get McDonald's $5 Value Meal For A While Longer: In late June of 2024, McDonald's began a promotion that allowed patrons to get a McChicken sandwich or McDouble Cheeseburger, 4-piece chicken nuggets, small french fries, and a small soda for $5. The promotion was meant to be for a month only.

However, Bloomberg is reporting that 93% of McDonald's franchisees now plan to extend the promotion through August due to increased foot traffic. So Floridians who have enjoyed getting McDonald's on the cheap can do so for a little bit longer.

McDonald's is not the only chain with a $5 value meal. I've written about similar options at KFC, Burger King, and Wendy's.
