Discount Clothing Retailer Offering $10 Denim & $4 Shirts, Primark, To Open 2nd FL Store

    2024-08-05

Orlando shoppers rejoice because a discount retailer - Primark- is coming. Floridians who like (or have) to shop have plenty of choices - from malls to supercenters to online retailers. And we all need clothing. However, Florida's clothing landscape has been challenging for some retailers. I've written about clothing retailers in Florida, like Venus Fashion, laying off workers. However, Floridians in Orlando are getting a new discount retailer from Ireland - Primark.

About Primark: This fashion-forward says that they "offer something for everyone," and it has plenty of customers - operating in 15 countries. The company originated in Ireland in the 1960s and expanded to America in 2015.

The Economist has called Primark a "super-cheap Irish clothes retailer" and has noted that it offers "trendy clothes at astonishingly low prices."

Florida Feedback From The First Store: Primark currently has one store in Sunrise and a distribution center in Jacksonville. The Sunrise location has been reviewed over 3,000 times and receives a 4.5 out of 5-star rating on Google reviews.

Many commented on the cleanliness and price. A reviewer named Steven wrote, in part:

"This is the most affordable clothing/department store in the United States. The store was pretty organized and clean. We saw the employees restocking the merchandise during our visit. Also, there were a lot of people in the store and we went on a Monday. The store is divided into men's, women's, children's, home section, shoes, etc... The overall experience was great and the employees were doing their job."

Details On The New Florida Store: A new 36,200 square foot Primark store will open at The Florida Mall in Orlando on August 29, 2024. Shoppers can expect tee shirts from $4 and denim from $10.

Kevin Tulip, President of Primark US, said in a statement, in part:

"Florida is a pillar of our expansion into the Southern US market. We're thrilled to have the opportunity to bring 'Primania' to Orlando shoppers and accommodate the growing demand for high-quality, value-priced styles that everyone will love..."
