Many Floridians realize that over the last couple of years, several billionaires have either made Florida their personal or business home (or both.) I've written about Stephen Ross, John Paulson, and Ken Griffin moving their companies to Florida and Jorge Mas' business breaking earnings records. Billionaire Larry Ellison is another example who just purchased a commercial property in Florida - the Eue Palm Beach Resort.

About Larry Ellison and Florida: Ellison is the co-founder of the tech company Oracle. He currently serves as the company's chief technology officer and executive chairman.

According to Forbes, Ellison is worth around $162 billion. In June of 2022, Ellison purchased what at that time was the most expensive home in Florida history - a $173 Million, 62,200-square-foot estate in Manalapan.

This is not Ellison's only home. He has property in California and Rhode Island, and he also owns a Hawaiin island - Lanai.

The Purchase Of The "Glamorous" Eau Palm Beach Resort: In August of 2024, Ellison purchased the 310-room hotel Eau Palm Beach Resort in Manalapan.

The price of this transaction was $277.4 million, and the last sale of the hotel in 2003 was $67.5 million.

The hotel's website calls it "glamorous" and geared toward indulgence.

Residents of and visitors to Florida have reviewed the resort over 2,400 times and give it a 4.6 out of 5 stars. Many describe the resort as a beautiful place that offers a relaxing experience. A reviewer named Madeline wrote:

"This hotel is amazing!!! It is unbelievably beautiful. The pool is unreal and the beach is gorgeous! I was expecting it to be very nice, but it immediately surpassed my expectations the second we walked through the doors. Excellent food and beverage options. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful as well. The hotel itself is updated and well-decorated. Staying here is a true luxury! Would 10/10 recommend."

The author is not affiliated with Oracle or the Eau Palm Beach Resort.
