Floridians who wish to spruce up their homes themselves have plenty of options in the home improvement sector. Examples are Home Depot, Lowe's, and Ace Hardware. However, one store in this sector - LL Flooring - has filed for bankruptcy, and Florida will lose six of the retailer's stores.

About LL Flooring: According to the company's website, it is the premier flooring retailer in the United States. The company got its start in 1993, and although it has 400 stores over 47 states, those numbers may change as it begins to close stores.

The company used to be called Lumber Liquidators but it rebranded in 2020 with the name LL Flooring.

Financial Difficulties: LL Flooring filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in August of 2024. In a statement, the company reportedly said that it is negotiating with parties interested in buying the business.

Although 300 stores will remain open, the company is closing 94 stores - 5 of which are in Florida.

The Florida Stores That Are Closing: The following five cities will be losing stores in the Sunshine State:

    Clearwater

    Florida City

    Gainsville

    St. Augustine

    Tampa

Florida Feedback: Patrons in one LL Flooring store report good experiences. Customers of the Lutz store give it 4.5 out of 5 stars on Google reviews. Many mentioned employees by name who provided excellent customer service. A reviewer named Leigh wrote, in part:

"10/10! Our favorite flooring location with wonderful team members and quality products! We usually work with Josh and/or Ryan - but the entire team is great! We had a recent install, which was also above and beyond! We continue to trust them with our home flooring needs/projects and highly recommend their helpful, professional services!..."
