West Coast Sandwich Chain, Port Of Subs, Is Coming To Florida With 10 Initial Stores

After writing restaurant articles for years on Newsbreak, I believe that Floridians love subs. Articles about subs, hoagies, and grinders always get plenty of comments with readers disclosing their favorites. From "Pub Subs" to mom-and-pop shops to chains, everyone has an eatery that they love the best. Floridians in central Florida are about to get a new option - the west coast's Port of Subs.

About Port of Subs: This chain began in 1972 when two brothers opened a modest sandwich shop in Nevada. Today, there are around 135 stores - mostly in the western United States.

The chain is known for its made-to-order sandwiches with fresh bread, zesty sauces, and quality meats and cheeses. There are also salads, wraps, desserts, and breakfast options.

I would normally offer feedback from Floridians, but in this case, I can't due to it not yet being in Florida, but a location in Nevada gets 3.6 out of 5 stars on Yelp. While some complain about wait times or wrong orders, some compliment the food - particularly the bread.

A reviewer named Trisha wrote, in part:

"Most friendly staff! They're helpful, and nice, and make great sandwiches.I come in at least twice a week for my boss and they've memorized his order by now but always double-check with me before making it. The sandwiches are made so (well)...The onions are cut perfectly - nice and thin. It's always so clean inside - though I don't stay often."

The Port of Subs Stores Coming To Florida: Port of Subs has reportedly reached a deal with a husband and wife team to bring the chain to central Florida in the form of ten stores in the Orlando area.

The first location is expected to be in Maitland and to launch in 2025. This will be the first store in Florida.
