A sandwich is arguably a tasty, relatively inexpensive way to get a filling meal at a restaurant. If you order carefully, you can get all your food groups represented in a package that looks and tastes exactly as you want. Floridians can choose from chains like Subway, Jersey Mikes, or Jimmy John's. But none of the above were recently named as having "the greatest sandwich in America." However, the chain that was - Capriotti's Sandwich Shop - is reportedly looking to expand into central Florida

About Capriotti's Sandwich Shop: According to the company's website, two sisters started this company way back in the mid-1970s. This vintage eatery still relies on fresh rolls and quality meats and cheeses.

They offer a variety of hot and cold sandwiches in flavors like Italian, meatball, cheesesteaks, Wagyu beef, and turkey sandwiches.

In fact, according to PR Newswire reporting in November of 2023, AOL.com has dubbed Capriotti's signature sub called "the Bobbie" (pictured at the top of this article) "the greatest sandwich in America."

Existing Florida Locations: According to the company's website, it has locations in Bradenton, Tampa, Jacksonville, Lutz, Odessa, Miami and Plantation.

Pricing: The chain has some specials that one could argue are reasonably priced. As of this writing, a Tampa location has several selections of half-subs with salad for the price of $9.99.

This location gets 4 out of 5 stars on Google reviews, with many raters who have lived outside of Florida writing how much they missed the chain.

I'm a (Florida) girl, but lived out west for a bit. They have these out west. So when I found out they have one here, I was so excited! Yes, the sandwiches are that good! I just wish they had more in the Tampa Bay area. The Bobby (think Thanksgiving dinner in a sandwich) never disappoints, and the Capastrami is super yummy too!!!

The Possibility Of Central Florida Locations: A representative from Capriotti's Sandwich Shop reportedly attended the International Council of Shopping Centers in Orlando in late August of 2024. Attendees of this event were reportedly looking to expand their companies into central Florida markets.
