FL To Get 2nd Location Of Burrito Chain That Left A Writer "Blown Away" - Freebies At Grand Opening

Floridians who have a hankering for southwestern food like tacos and burritos in a fast-casual setting have plenty of options. A few examples are Moe's and Chipotle. And soon Floridians in Tampa will have one more option - Barberitos which claims a "better burrito."

About Barberitos: This chain prides itself on the small details. Its produce is delivered fresh daily. Its cheese is hand grated. And its chips are freshly prepared. Each store uses local ingredients and strives to offer memorable taste combinations.

This chain is on the smaller side, as there are only 46 locations nationwide. Two are in Florida, although one is only "coming soon." A Panama City store is up and running.

The Panama City location earns 4.5 out of 5 stars on TripAdvisor. A reviewer with the handle Roxy314 wrote, in part:

"Great choices and very fresh. This place had been recommended to me several times and after I tasted my meal, I could see why...The fillings are right there for you to see and you can get as few or as many as you like...Get there early as there was a line to the door by the time we left (before noon). Huge burritos, great prices. Free chips & salsa. I'll definitely be back and I've recommended it to colleagues..."

Atlanta Magazine writer Matt Walljasper had this to say about Barberitos, in part:

"I was blown away with how fresh everything tasted at Barberitos—and I went an hour before closing. I had to order steak rather than pork, which Barberitos doesn’t offer, a meat that isn’t my first choice at burrito places because it’s often too tough and rubbery. Not so here. It was juicy, an incredible feat for fast food, and actually tasted like, you know, steak."

The Upcoming New Florida Location With Freebies: A new store at 7021 E Fletcher Avenue will open on September 19, 2024. It will be run by brothers and Floridians Matt and Austin O’Neill.

The first 100 people in line on opening day will receive free Barberitos for a year. And more prizes and promotions will be ongoing throughout the weekend.
