Inexpensive Burger & Milkshake Chain Called the US's "Best" Buys Land For FL Store Near A Culver's

I always enjoy writing articles about restaurant chains that some Floridians seem to really want to expand into the Sunshine State. I've written articles about Fatburger and In-N-Out Burger. And now another sought-after retro burger chain - Cook Out - has dropped another clue as to where Florida can expect a third location - in St. Petersburg.

About Cook Out: This chain got its start in North Carolina, but it has expanded so that it has over 300 locations. Mashed has written that Cook Out has a "cult-like" following and it's somewhat easy to see why - it offers straightforward comfort food like burgers and milkshakes in large portion sizes at reasonable prices.

For example, according to an online menu, you can get a couple of items for less than two bucks - chicken wraps and nuggets are $1.99 as are hot and corn dogs and quesadillas. A barbecue sandwich is $4.99.

Another thing that sets Cook Out apart is that it offers unique items like fried cheese curds and seasonal shakes like watermelon in the summer and eggnog at Christmas.

USA Today has written that Cook Out "bests" bigger chains. The publication also ranked the chain as one of the best late-night fast-food restaurants.

The Florida Cities That Appear To Be Getting Cook Out Locations: In the summer of 2024, I wrote about Cook Out purchasing two old Boston Market locations in Tampa's Carrollwood.

And now it seems that there will be a third location not too far away in St. Petersburg. Cook Out has reportedly purchased land at the northern end of Fourth Street near the Gandy Boulevard interchange. The location is close to other restaurants such as Culver's, McDonald's, Taco Bell, Einstein Bagels, and Krispy Kreme Donuts.

The author is not affiliated with Cook Out or any other restaurants.
