Loving FL Yorkshire Terrier, Chihuahua Mix Needs Home After Owner Moved & Didn't Take Her

Ideally, when we adopt a furry friend, it is for life. They become a member of our family and they move when we move. Unfortunately, this scenario didn't happen for a Yorkshire terrier and chihuahua mix in Florida. As a result, she is looking for a loving home.

Meet Pixie: This sweetheart is thought to be around four years old and a yorkie chihuahua mix, but her fosters have noticed that it is hard to see the chihuahua in her.

Pixie found herself with a foster because her owner moved and did not take Pixie along since the owner's new home did not allow dogs.

Pixie is said to be loving and receptive to cuddles and play with other dogs. Her only real health issue is that she is a bit overweight at eighteen pounds. Her foster family has her on a special diet to help her lose weight and she loves to walk and play.

Although Pixie is outgoing and playful, she doesn't like loud noises or fireworks, but welcomes cuddles and emotional comfort to help her get through them.

Pixie has been spayed, and microchipped, is current on vaccines, and heartworm and flea prevention, and is potty trained.

According to the American Kennel Club, Yorkshire terriers are affectionate, sprightly, affectionate, and good with children. They are highly trainable but enjoy a high level of stimulation and play.

Pixie is currently in Holiday, Florida, but those interested in seeing or adopting her can check out an adoption form for her foster here.

She is quite adaptable and gets along with most everyone - human and animal. In fact, her foster believes she would enjoy a family with another dog.

You can also access the foster's page for Pixie here.

So adorable and what a sad situation but at least she was returned to a kennel and rescue versus left on the street!
