FL Bull Terrier Left Tied To Pole During Storm Is With Foster Family & Being Given Time To Heal

Floridians know that as storms approach, we are urged by officials and animal services to ensure our pets' safety during and after the storm. Unfortunately, that did not happen in one case with Milton. An incident went viral when an owner tied his dog to a fence post as the storm approached.

But there is good news in this story. The dog, now named Trooper after his law enforcement rescuer, is safe. The Leon County Humane Society said in a statement:

"His name is Trooper because of how much he's been through and to honor those who saved him."

What Has Happened To Trooper After His Rescue?: The Leon County Humane Society has indicated in a Facebook post that they've received many inquiries about adopting Trooper.

However, the agency said he needs time to "decompress" so he has been placed with a loving foster family who has experience with his breed and who will have the first opportunity to adopt Trooper. The agency asked that the foster family be given privacy.

If the foster family ends up not adopting Trooper, then the Leon County Humane Society will start looking for "the perfect fit" for him and they have indicated that they will update if this opportunity becomes available.

The Society urged readers of the post currently looking for a pet to consider attending the Subaru Loves Pets: Adoption Event & Pet Festival this Saturday at 1707 Capital Circle NE in Tallahassee.

According to the New York Post, Trooper is a bull terrier. According to the American Kennel Club, bull terriers are "comical" as well as playful and endearing. Because they are muscular dogs, they thrive on exercise.

In the end, Trooper is most definitely safe, in a loving environment, and is being given time to heal before any decisions about his future are made.
