Florida Mini Schnauzer Mix Pup Needs Loving Home After Being Rescued From An "Unsafe Environment"

Ideally, Florida animal lovers would like to believe that all pets are surrounded by love in a stable, safe home. Unfortunately, that wasn't the reality for a mini schnauzer mix pup who is now looking for a loving, patient home.

Meet Scout: This little guy is only nine pounds and was born in February of 2023. According to his page on the website Petfinder, he comes from an "unsafe environment."

Therefore, he needs a home that understands that he scares easily in new or unknown situations.

Scout loves to play, so he needs a fenced yard and someone who is willing to throw a ball for a game of catch. He's great on a leash for a walk. However, he's also willing to cuddle on the couch when it is time to rest.

His rescue organization would like for him to be with an owner who is home more than not and they would like him to be the only dog in a home limited to kids who are 12 and up.

He has a mild medical condition - diabetes insipidus. He is on an inexpensive medication for this and needs to be let out to use the restroom frequently. However, he has a normal life expectancy.

Scout is not fully potty trained inside, but he is working on it. He is crate trained, neutered, microchipped, updated on his vaccinations, and heartworm and flea and tick preventatives.

According to the American Kennel Club, miniature schnauzers are friendly, obedient, affectionate, long-lived, and low-shedding.
