FL Is Getting New Locations Of The Eatery Named The Best Chicken Salad By Southern Living

Floridians know that there's no shortage of places where you can get chicken - from KFC to Popeye's to Chick-fil-A. However, none of these was said to have the country's "best" chicken salad sandwich like Chicken Salad Chick's "Fancy Nancy." That meal earned the moniker "best" chicken salad title by Southern Living in the summer of 2020. Florida will be getting new stores of this chain - in Lakeland and Melbourne.

About Chicken Salad Chick: This chain had very humble beginnings. It got its start out of the home of its founder, Stacy Brown. When she saw that people were willing to buy her product out of her home, she would eventually open a brick-and-mortar restaurant, which would become so popular that it was feasible to expand throughout the nation.

The chain has earned the attention of some national publications in addition to Southern Living. In 2021, Mashed wrote that Chicken Salad Chick is unique because you can enjoy a very tasty meal without needing to consume chicken that is deep-fat fried and unhealthy.

For example, there are healthy options like the "fruity fran" with apples and pineapple, and the "Barbie Q" - a healthy option that tastes like barbecue ribs.

There are around 33 of these restaurants in Florida with another on the way.

Some Floridians embrace this chain. For example, a Lutz location receives 4.5 stars on TripAdvisor. A reviewer with the handle

"I have eaten here twice and tried the Cranberry Kelli and the Sassy Scotty. My husband had the Oliva's Old South as a sandwich. Absolutely loved it both times I was there. The grape salad side is so good that it could be a dessert. Service was great. I enjoyed the salad so much that I went back another day... I will be going back many times for "The Chick"!"

About The New Stores: A site plan has reportedly been filed for a new location at 5216 Florida Avenue South in Lakeland.

A new store is also planned at 1301 S Babcock Street in Melbourne.
