For seven innings tonight, the Red Sox outplayed the Dodgers. In fact, not only did they outplay them, but they seemed in line for a shutout victory. Looking back, Nick Pivetta had six shutout frames in the books before passing the torch to Zack Kelly, who tossed a scoreless seventh. Looking forward, the Sox also had a rested Kenley Jansen ready to go in the pen and shut things down in the ninth. That left the eighth as the only sticky wicket remaining.

Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James has been doing his signature chalk toss before games for a very long time. However, his Team USA teammate Kevin Durant wasn’t expecting to catch a cloud of the dust in the face after James did his chalk toss ahead of Saturday’s exhibition game against South Sudan ahead of the 2024 Paris Olympics. Durant must have taken a good bit of the chalk dust to the face, as he immediately reacted and rushed away to try and get the dust out of his eyes after James accidentally threw it in his direction. The Phoenix Suns superstar wasn’t set to play in Saturday’s game because of a calf injury, but he definitely got something to remember from this exhibition contest anyhow… a whiff of James’ classic chalk toss. The LA Kings have signed forward Liam Greentree to a three-year, entry-level contract, carrying an AAV of $975,000 at the NHL level. Greentree was the team’s first-round pick last month at the 2024 NHL Draft. A player the Kings are excited to add into the system, Greentree was the first step towards restocking the cupboards of a prospect pool that has seen several players either graduate from prospect to NHL player or leave the organization via trade or other means. The LeBron now is not the LeBron that was a couple of years ago. So it’s a big difference. Everybody would also tell you, and you can see for yourself, the athletic LeBron, dominant that he was a couple of years ago, is not the same that he is now.
