Galesville man charged with eluding police and stealing vehicle in Onalaska
A 37-year-old Galesville man is being held in the La Crosse County Jail after he allegedly stole a vehicle and eluded police June 29 in Onalaska. Shane A. Kudrna was charged in La Crosse County Circuit Court with felony counts of eluding an officer, second-degree recklessly endangering safety and operating a vehicle without the owner's consent.

Minnesota man charged with drug trafficking, lewd behavior in La Crosse County
A 26-year-old La Crescent, Minnesota, man faces multiple criminal charges after he was accused of operating a drug trafficking site in Holmen. Lucas G. Yahnke was charged in La Crosse County Circuit Court with felony counts of possession of psilocin with intent to deliver, possession of marijuana with intent to deliver and maintaining a drug trafficking place and misdemeanor counts of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and lewd/lascivious behavior.
Riverfest, campers impacted by high water as Mississippi River rises in La Crosse and Winona
The Mississippi River has reached 14 feet at La Crosse and is expected to stay there a while. According to the National Weather Service, the river level will hardly budge from its current level until at least the middle of next week. Recent heavy rains in northern Minnesota and Wisconsin pushed the river past moderate flood stage (13 feet) June 25. The river is expected to crest July 2 at 14.2 feet and still be at 14.1 feet July 4.
