La Crosse Logan's postseason run comes to an end in the state semifinals

    2024-06-12

La Crosse Logan was back at the WIAA State Baseball tournament for the first time since 2007.

Logan was a 6 seed in the D2 Regional Tournament, but after a magical postseason run, they found themselves in the state semifinals up against Mosinee.

Logan would strike early, after a leadoff walk and a base hit, the Rangers had runners at the corners. Then Kobe Szafran would get caught in a rundown between second and first which would allow Johnny Leaver to score from third, Rangers take an early lead.

In the second inning, Mosinee would get hot at the plate. The Indians would string together 4 hits scoring 4 runs to take a 4-1 lead. Mosinee would then score in the 3rd, 4th and 5th innings to take an 8-1 lead.

The Rangers would never get the offense going finishing with just 4 hits as they fall in the semifinals 8-1.

The Rangers finish their season with a 17 and 11 record.
