Crowds gather for day one of Riverfest 2024

LA CROSSE (WKBT) -- A La Crosse tradition that started back in 1983.

"We're very excited to get to July 4," said Mike and Lubinsky, 2024 Riverfest Commodore.

It all began Wednesday at 11 a.m. when the American flag was raised to officially kick off the festivities.

"You know it's our freedom. You see that in our veterans coming to help raise the flag. It will be an honor," said Lubinsky.

But Riverfest has grown and has attracted people from all over.

"We love the music, we love the atmosphere. Just all the kind people," said attendee Shela Lintz.

It has created a good impression of La Crosse, making people wanting to come back for more.

"Well, my daughter went to school here, and I just kind of fell in love with it," said Larry Lintz.

From live music, entertainment, even wrestling there is something here for everyone.

Providing a good taste of what our city has to offer.
