Festivalgoers ready for Riverfest fireworks

LA CROSSE (WKBT)-- The fireworks are a go. So far, the weather has been cooperating enough for the La Crosse Skyrockers to put on the show which is scheduled to begin at 9:30 pm tonight.

Earlier, crowds were out at Riverside Park enjoying the weather, food and events. Despite last night's postponement, people say they're happy the show is a go.

Hannah Wold has never missed a fireworks show at Riverfest and she has no intention of missing the show tonight.

"Just everyone getting together and it's just a big event for everyone to get food and drinks and have a good time with the family and watch the fire," Wold said.

Other people including David Meyer have never been to Riverfest. He's staying in La Crosse because of the festival.

"I've heard about it over the years and I've had friends that have been here," Meyer explained.

Another person News 8 Now spoke to says they came all the way from Fort Atkinson also for RiverFest. They extended their stay an extra night just to see the fireworks.
