LA CROSSE (WKBT)-- La Crosse Parks, Recreation and Forestry hosted the fourteenth annual Youth Outdoor Fest at Veterans' Freedom Park Saturday afternoon.

Kids had the chance to test their archery skills, learn how to cast a fly rod, and interact with local animals.

A program coordinator said it's important for kids to learn about outdoor opportunities.

"It's just exposer to all the cool opportunities we have around here, and out-door engagement is just super important in this area with the offering that we do have," said Hunter Elsen, program coordinator of Outdoor Youth Fest.

The fest was moved from Pettibone Park this year due to flooding.
