The 50th Annual Mediterranean Festival celebrates culture and food

LA CROSSE (WKBT) -- The 50th Annual Mediterranean Festival hosted by La Crosse's St. Elias Orthodox Church will be held Sunday.

On Wednesday, News 8 Now This Morning's Alexandra Carter spoke with Festival Coordinator Richard Markos about the event. The celebration showcases a range of cultures from around the Mediterranean Sea and eastern Europe.

Some activities include live dancing and music, an Arabic tea ceremony, tours of the church, a silent auction, and an iconography demo.

A wide spread of dishes will be at the event including chicken kebabs, sliced lamb, falafel, rice, hummus and pita bread, and much more.
