Gundersen/Bellin: 'Minor clinical impacts' as a result of global tech outage Friday

LA CROSSE (WKBT) -- A regional healthcare system says they are experiencing impacts of a global internet outage Friday.

A spokesperson for Bellin and Gundersen Health told News 8 Now they have been affected, though the effects have not been major.

"Bellin and Gundersen Health System is experiencing minor clinical impacts as a result of the worldwide Microsoft outage," Christopher Stauffer said. "Patients’ safety and quality of care remain our top priorities. All appointments and procedures are on as scheduled unless patients receive a call from your healthcare team."

The outage is disrupting operations at a litany of companies across the world, including many major airlines. Friday morning, the Chippewa Valley Regional Airport reported the outage led to cancelations of Sun Country Airline flights.
