Bonanzas take off for Oshkosh

LA CROSSE (WKBT) -- You may have noticed an influx of planes on the runway on Saturday at the La Crosse Regional Airport.

That's because approximately 107 Beechcraft Bonanzas make a pit stop in La Crosse each year before flying to Oshkosh for the EAA AirVenture.

The bonanzas to Oshkosh made it's first flight in 1990, and it's been a tradition ever since.

The Chairman Founder of the Debbie Franceus Memorial Aviation Foundation says what he enjoys most is the people.

"All the people that are here that I remember welcomed me back with open arms. So I come for the Comradery. I come for the challenge of formation flying," said Mike Franceus.
