Peace runners 'pass the torch' at Boys and Girls Club

LA CROSSE (WKBT) -- The Sri Chinmoy Oneness-Home Peace Run stopped at the Erickson Boys and Girls Club.

This international torch relay features runners from 6 different countries on a 4-month journey across the U.S. and Canada.

At today's event, local kids had the opportunity to run with the Peace Torch.

Their goal is to spread a message that peace begins with individuals.

"To give people an opportunity to express their love for peace and share the message that peace really begins in the heart of each person, and when we find it in our own lives, we can easily spread it," said Pacerunner Pransukh Marks

The team plans to cover 73 miles today, running from La Crescent to Richland Center along Route 14, passing the torch along the way.
