Willis pitches gem as Steam take down Honeybees 3-1

In their first game back from the All-Star break the Steam were victorious in a pitcher's duel.

Mackenzie Willis notched her seventh win of the season pitching seven innings, allowing one hit, one run and two walks while striking out seven batters. The lone Minot hit was a home run off the bat of Sydney Farmer in the fourth inning.

The bats for La Crosse weren't much better only collecting three hits, but the Steam were patient at the plate getting on base eight times via walks.

Ashley Wolfe, Calli Janik and Teagan Graul each drove in a run in the win for the home side.

The win improves the Steam record to 11-19 on the year and they'll head to Mankato to take on the Habaneros on Friday at 6:35 p.m.
