La Crosse Post 52 downs Holmen Post 284 in 11 innings

It took four extra frames to get a winner but Post 52 squeaked past Holmen in AAA regional action on Wedensday.

La Crosse plated three runs in the first inning courtesy of some hits by Johnny Leaver and Dawson Lapic but then Post 284 would inch closer in the fourth scoring two on a Brennon Metzler two-out double.

Holmen then tied it up in the seventh thanks to a base hit off the bat of Eli Edwardson.

Edwardson then had another hit in the 11th to give Holmen the lead but La Crosse were the hosts so they had a chance to respond and Kobe Szafran walked it off with a single to left, which was his fourth hit of the day.

Holmen moves to the loser's bracket to face Tomah at 2 p.m. on Thursday while Post 52 will play Middleton at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
