Hixon House hosts games in the garden

LA CROSSE (WKBT) -- There was plenty of fun at the Hixon House Sunday afternoon.

Games in the garden give visitors the chance to participate in a variety of Victorian games including croquet, badminton, and more.

These historic games allow people to experience activities the Hixon family would have enjoyed.

The executive director of the La Crosse County Historical Society says the event offers a wonderful opportunity for people to explore the Hixon house.

"It's a great opportunity for the locals to come and check out the Hixon House," said Megan Meyer.

Visitors had the opportunity to tour the first floor of the historic Hixon House.

Officials anticipated attendance would range from 300 to 400 people.

They hope this event will become an annual tradition.
