Finnottes in downtown La Crosse closing

LA CROSSE (WKBT) -- A downtown La Crosse staple is closing its doors.

Finnottes Candies will be closing after 38 years.

The announcement came in a Facebook event hosted by Finnottes titled "Last Chance to Get Your Treats STARTS Aug 1"

"Finnottes is closing its doors after a wonderful journey filled with support and blessings from the community," the event's description reads. "Laurie and her family are grateful for all the cherished memories and experiences. Thank you for being a part of this story."

On their website, owner Laurie Finn explained that the decision comes following the recent and unexpected passing of her husband Frank.

Dear Friends,

It is with an immense amount of gratitude that I say thank you and farewell. With the passing of my husband Frank in May, it’s time to close the doors of our business and start my next chapter. Effective immediately, our online ordering platform is closed. Product will be available in our retail store until inventory is cleared out. Thanks so much for everything. It has been an honor serving you.
