Suspect in shooting found and booked in jail
On Friday, July 19, 2024 at 9:36 a.m., Portland Police Officers assigned to North Precinct responded to a report of shots fired inside an apartment in the 4200 block of Northeast Cully Boulevard. When the arrived they learned that an adult male was alone in the apartment, had fired shots, and had access to multiple guns. Officers surrounded the apartment and began a dialogue with the man. He refused to come out of the apartment and began throwing objects out of windows, including household items and small furniture.
Motorcyclist killed in Gresham collision Saturday, July 20
A Gresham motorcyclist was killed in a crash Saturday morning, July 20. At 10 a.m. Gresham Police officers and medical personnel responded to a collision involving a motorcycle and pickup truck at the intersection of Southeast 190th Drive and Southeast Cheldelin Road. The motorcyclist was killed in the collision. The driver of the pickup stayed at the scene and cooperated with police. The East Metro Vehicular Crimes Team is leading the investigation. Police say the motorcycle may have been traveling at a high rate of speed prior to the fatal crash. Anyone who witnessed the collision and has not already spoken with an officer is asked to call the Gresham Police tip-line at 503-618-2719.
Portland Pride Festival expected to bring lots of business to downtown
PORTLAND, Ore. (KATU) — Even though Pride Month is technically in June, on Saturday the streets by the waterfront will be sprawled with Pride Festival goers. Brush fire erupts north of Prineville
A brush fire broke out Saturday afternoon about 6 miles north of Prineville that spread fast and prompted evacuations. According to an Oregon Department of Forestry (ODF) report, the fire was reported around 3:30 p.m. The Cat Rock Fire burned toward the southeast and had grown to an estimated 500 acres by Saturday evening. U.S. Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management and Crook County Fire and Rescue assisted at the fire. In addition, aircraft were actively engaged on the wildfire. ...
