Aurora Reservoir Vehicle vs Entry Shack
On August 31st, 2024 at approximately 19:05 Aurora Fire Rescue and Aurora Parks, Recreation and Open Space Rangers were dispatched to a reported motor vehicle accident at the entrance to Aurora Reservoir, 5800 Powhaton Rd. Dispatched advised that a vehicle had crashed into the entry shack and that one person might be trapped. Rangers arrived on scene first and reported that the driver had self-extricated from the vehicle. She was transported by ambulance to a local hospital for evaluation. Crews were on scene about thirty minutes evaluating the structure which sustained heavy damage. The employee working in the shack was shaken but not injured. Aurora Police are investigating.
